being one of the better ones) 2.6" flat bottom
Hotchkiss Bolt with rounded nose. Dug at
the West Point Test Range and fired through
a 2.6" Wiard Rifled Gun.

Long pattern type that has been fitted with a
wrought iron sabot. This was, according to
Jack Melton, done to some late war ammunition
that was salvaged from the battlefield. Verbal
provenance states that this unique shell was
 picked up near Cedar Creek, Va.

Really good iron and thick sabot. Faint rifling
marks indicate that it was fired from a C.S.
Parrot Rifle. The hole in the base is a mystery.
